I first met Christina Margeison in 2005 when she was employed as a manager by a private care home for adults with learning disabilities in Wandsworth. I was a senior social worker. I was impressed by her dedication to the service users in her care. Christina felt there was a better way to care for the residents than in an institution, and left to set up a supported living project, which quickly developed into C M Care Ltd. Her philosophy has always been user focussed, providing the greatest independence and minimum support necessary to allow the service user the appropriate degree of responsibility and self reliance. Although C M Care has a growing staff team, it was not uncommon for Christina and her senior managers to work shifts and be present at times of crisis, which can occur from time to time – even Christmas day!

Financial reward for her organisation has been secondary to this ideal. As a result, her reputation has developed and the company has grown despite a challenging financial environment and restricted funding by local authorities. C M Care has won contracts through the quality of accommodation and support, and it’s sensible pricing structure. It is now a major provider of rented accommodation and personal support to those with learning disabilities and mental health issues in the borough of Wandsworth. C M Care is developing new projects and maintains a positive relationship with sponsors, care professionals and users’ families alike.

I’ve got no problems with the staff, I think they are OK and I feel quite secure here and I am quite happy and I do not feel I have any problems at all. I think its nice here, and glad that there’s help here if I ever need it.

I think the staff are OK.
